During Orpul, decoctions of medicinal plants are consumed alongside generous portions of meat. Orpul Itinerary Description

Welcome to our Maasai traditional medicine Experience (Orpul) which aims at body and mind strengthening in which groups of Maasai men as the head of the family, contribute goats, sheep and Oxen for the occasion. In this Occasion, A group of Maasai men stay together, in a secluded area in the forest, far from Maasai bomas (homestead) which is easily reachable to a water source. Maasai youth known as ‘Ilmuran’ ensure full security at Orpul site, since they are the trusted warriors of the Maasai tribe. In Orpul decoctions of medical plants are taken with large quantities of meat.

Orpul practice is specifically meant for men only.

Storytelling, meditation, traditional songs and prayers which form part of Orpul experience are likely to contribute to significance to recovery, particularly in the case of psychosomatic and stress-related illnesses. The duration of the occasion depends on the contribution of the Orpul participants
